Given the situation in Ukraine, we cannot offer consular services and emergency travel document services in Kyiv. But we are still able to support you. We advise you to continue your application, clearly stating the country you intend to travel to when leaving Ukraine. Further contact will be made after your application has been received to tell you how to get your document.

Expect extra document checks

Where possible, we are supporting people who have been unable to collect physical travel documents. You should expect increased documentation and safeguarding checks by border guards. You may wish to print copies of documentation to facilitate your crossing.

You must get an out-pass to leave the UAE

If you want to use an emergency travel document to leave the UAE, you should get an 'out-pass' from UAE Immigration.

Check if you need a police report

If your passport has been lost or stolen you must get a police report from the Dubai Police website or from a local police station in other Emirates. It could take a number of days to receive the report, which might delay your travel plans.

UAE residents

If you are a UAE resident using an emergency travel document, your visa might be cancelled and you will need to reapply for a new residency visa on your new full validity passport if you want to return to the UAE. This includes Golden visas. Check with Immigration in the Emirate where your visa was issued before completing your application.

You must get a visa to enter or travel through the USA

UK emergency travel documents are not valid for entry into the USA or travel through the USA on an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) visa waiver.To enter or travel through the USA using an emergency travel document, you must apply for a visa from the nearest US embassy or consulate before you travel (this may take a number of weeks) or hold a valid lawful permanent resident card (often referred to as a 'green card'), which you must have with you on arrival.

Check if you need a USA visa

You cannot travel through the USA from Uruguay unless you have a valid entry visa. Try a different route or make sure you have the correct visa. Contact the nearest USA embassy to apply.

Check if you need an exit visa If your emergency travel document has been issued in Tashkent, you'll need an exit visa from the OVIR (Department of Foreign Travel & Exit) before you can travel out of Uzbekistan. This can take at least 5 working days.

Emergency travel document validity length

Your emergency travel document must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the length of your intended stay in Venezuela. Your emergency travel document will be issued with the validity length you need for your journey.

Check if you need a visa

Contact the nearest Vietnamese Embassy to get an appropriate visa before travel. If your emergency travel document was issued in Vietnam to replace a lost or stolen passport, you will need an exit visa from the Vietnam Immigration Department before you can leave Vietnam. This process normally takes 5 working days. Contact the Immigration Department directly for more information.

Emergency travel document validity length

Emergency travel documents must be valid for 6 months for entry into Zambia if the holder is not a returning resident. Your emergency travel document will be issued with the validity length you need for your journey.

Check if you need a police report

You may need to show a police report if your passport was lost or stolen and you have been issued with an emergency travel document, because immigration officials will want to see evidence of entry stamps when you leave.
